Filming in Surrey’s countryside

Surrey is an attractive location for filming and the proximity to London, as well as Heathrow and Gatwick airports, makes for a very accessible and popular film location.

Surrey is home to the Surrey Hills National Landscape, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and Surrey County Council manages more than 10,000 acres of countryside available for access and public enjoyment. Our countryside estate consists of a variety of different landscapes and habitats. From leafy woodlands (Surrey is the most wooded county in England!), treasured chalklands, which support many rare plants, animals and insects to grasslands and vast open heathlands. Amongst our estate we also have ancient monuments, historic towers, and many vistas from which to enjoy far reaching views.
